Introducing Your Child to Riding a Scooter

Are you looking to introduce your child to the world of scooting? As a leading children's scooter brand in the UK, BOLDCUBE has some tips for parents on how to teach their child to scoot and make their first ride a memorable one.

First things first, it's important to introduce your child to their new scooter. Show them the different parts and how they work before they take their first ride. Once inside and under supervision, it's time to step up to the deck. Teach them how to stand on the deck, balance their weight, and hold the handlebars for support. This is a great exercise for them to get comfortable standing with one foot and pushing with the other.

We have collaborated with childcare expert @nannyamies on a series for introducing your child to their first scooter which includes some super helpful advice and tips for making the transition as smooth as possible.

When you feel they're ready to head outside and test the scooter out, make sure they're wearing a helmet and protective gear. Safety is key! At first, go slowly and be there to support them. As confidence builds, a Scooter strap can be really effective in supervising speed and confidence.

BOLDCUBE's Teeny and 3 Wheel Scooters are directed by leaning to steer. This intuitive way of steering creates a fluid riding experience and helps your child develop their skills and balance, similar to the movement of surfing or skateboarding. If your little one is uneasy at first, help pull them along with the scooter strap to get used to the movements and feel of the scooter.

Once you and your child feel comfortable enough, it's time to set them free on the scooter! Our 3 wheel scooter is self-balancing, allowing your child to focus on building their confidence and momentum. Adjust the height of the handlebar to give them extra support and comfort as they start, and then adjust it to elbow height as their skills grow.

With BOLDCUBE, you can rest assured that your child will have a fun and safe scooting experience. Happy scooting! And don't forget to share your little one's BOLDCUBE joy with the world by tagging us on Instagram & TikTok with the hashtag #boldcube or emailing us your photos at community@boldcube.co.uk.
